Beaver Dam

We're heading home to Geneva.

I'm looking forward to taking Sherlock to the reserve. He will bolt out of the car and run through the fields to the ruin of a 13th century château. However, not before stopping at the beaver dam.

Also, I am looking forward to seeing any changes to the dam. We've never seen the beavers. We were told we have to be there at dusk.

Castor is the word for beaver in French. It is also a rude word for a woman's anatomy.

It is difficult to believe, the bucolic area with the view of the Alps is only about 15 trafficless minutes from the City with its 200,000+ population. It's filled with world leaders and international organizations who are busy solving or creating world problems.

The beaver pond does change with the construction improvements made by the creatures. We can tell by the way certain trees have been gnawed. And then there's the sign talking about castors in the area.

Would that all those diplomats and NGO workers create as peaceful a spot as the reserve with its beaver dam.
