Aftermath
My housemate and I decided we needed, notice the word needed, to do a scone and tea breakfast or mid-morning snack at the Laughing Teapot/La Theiere Qui Rit. www.theclosetclause.com/2011/10/among-our-favorite-places-laughing.html.
Both of us had a more or less white night (read not sleeping) while visions on scones jumped over a fence in place of sheep. We probably can't blame the anticipation that much, but an excuse is an excuse.
The tearoom is a favourite because of its cozy atmosphere as well as the hot scones served with jam and whipped cream. The pot of tea, although small, always seems endless.
You would think after all this time we would have exhausted all topics.
Wrong.
We chatted about travel plans, teeth, politics, kids, and a number of other topics.
And rather take a picture of the food prior to eating, we decided that a photo of the empty plates told the story far better of how much we had enjoyed it. Unlike when we were children, there was no threat of having to eat everything on your plate. The plates were lucky we didn't consume or at least lick up the last vestiges of the jam.
