My daughter thinks she paid $30 for this suit over a decade ago in a charity shop. When she lived with me in 2003 and was moving back to Boston, I encouraged her to leave it for her beloved mother.
Had she not, I would have stolen it from her suitcase.
It has been my lucky suit. I wore it for my interviews to become Swiss. I wore it the day I took the oath to be a Swiss citizen.
Today I wore it when I remarried Rick under civil law in Switzerland. Our early ceremony took place Aug. 10th.
In a way it means my daughter was with me during the important life-changing events.
