Civil War is Here

 

April 12, 1861 Confederate forces fired on Fort Sumter. Americans fired on other Americans

We now have three cities which are being occupied by Americans against other Americans for dubious reasons. The National Guard has not killed other Americans YET!

When history is is written about 2025 some 50 years from now, sending the National Guard in Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Chicago as the start of the second American Civil War.

I feel sorry for the National Guard, 54 units under different states under Congress Article 1, Section 8 enumerated power to raise and support armies. It's the descendant of the pre-American Revolution.

There are benefits to being in the National Guard:

• Meaningful Service to Community

The Guard serves both the State and Federally. Commitment is for three years, in which they work with the guard one weekend a month and two weeks a year. Pay at the lowest rank is $1,357 – $1,467 monthly. An in-depth pay chart is https://usmilitary.com/national-guard-pay-chart/

Disadvantages include not being able to quit, possibility of fighting, deployment away from home for up to a year in the worse case scenario. 

So when someone joins, would they expect to have to turn on their fellow citizens under dubious conditions many of whom share their opinions? Especially in these troublesome times, the possibility of having to shoot your neighbor whom you agree with has to be distasteful. "I was just following orders" is not an excuse for obeying immoral leaders.

We have a constant blaming of ills on Democrats by Republicans. Listen to any Republican talk about whatever. Within a couple of minutes it becomes Biden's fault. Always.

This new civil war may not be between North and South but between Republicans and Democrats. 

A president needs to be president of all the people. S/he should never refuse service to the opposition for things like disaster recovery. Fake emergencies or even real emergencies are not to be treated differently where the color blue dominates the color red.

Pundits say the National Guard is being used to prepare Americans for more military in control. There's a logic.
