Rick and I were like two ships passing not in the night, but in the early morning.
He wrote all night on an assignment where he was trying to condense thousands and thousands of words he'd gathered in his research into a 1500 word article due this morning.
I, on the other hand, woke at six bright-eyed with the solution to the chapter I'd been unhappy with in Murder in Edinburgh, my fingers itching to rewrite.
His work area is outside the bedroom door.
As I left, we exchanged a brief kiss as he headed for the bed still warm from where I'd been. I headed for my computer.
Maybe later this afternoon we'll both be up and coherent at the same time.
