Kindness

In today's world filled with anger and fear, sometimes a ray of kindness comes though.

We're in Southern France which is about to shut down because of the pandemic. Essential businesses can continue but not much else.

Our village has marchés twice a week. Vendors set up their stands which include all kinds of foods and merchandise. Food stands only can continue.

One of our friends with a shop was amazed when a man came in and gave her 20 Euros at the end of Saturday's business, her last day for a month or more. He explained that those who can stay open took up a collection to divide among those that couldn't.

Granted 20 Euros won't replace a month of sales, but it shows a caring, a solidarity, a warmth. For now it has to be enough. If it only were contagious.
