Although I might not have understood the science behind the science winners, their accomplishments were impressive. Naturally, as a writer I was intrigued by the literature awards winners..
I was awed by the Peace Prize winners. Established in 1896 from the will of Alfred Nobel, it has been awarded to 111 individuals and 28 organizations.
Donald Trump wants that prize. To quote one of Margaret Thatcher's famous and favorite phrases, "no, no, no."
It was bad enough on Friday to watch the Russian War criminal be given a welcome on American soil, including a red carpet and flyover orchestrated by a lying, racist, con man, failed businessman, rapist and convicted felon, a man who tried to overthrow my birth country. This man is currently using military troops against Americans rather than the other alternatives to bring down crime rates.
On the other hand, Albert Nobel established the prizes.

- He held 355 patents.
- He spoke six languages
- Developer of several businesses
When his factory in Sweden exploded, his younger brother was among the dead. He also had a huge factory in the south of France, now a tourist attraction. Over the years 25 people were killed.
A French newspaper reported Nobel's death. Le marchand de la mort est mort ("The merchant of death is dead"), and went on to say, "Dr. Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday."
I wouldn't compare Trump and Nobel. Nobel, despite creating a destructive weapon, also created something with positive advantages, Trump has a trail of failures and damage. Even if he did manage to secure a peace agreement, it does not balance out and it certainly doesn't balance out all the bad he has done and it certainly doesn't merit any award except a jail term.

Trump would like every prize that can be earned without earning them
Merit does not matter to him, only power and wealth.
