Imagine the word Pantyhose being yelled out of your radio as you drive to work. If you can, then you commuted in and around Boston during the 60, 70s and 80s and had your radio tuned to WHDH and were listening to Jess Cain. During coffee break someone would say at least once a week, "Did you hear Jess's sketch on______ this morning and others would say "yes" and launch into a description of something else they found amusing...
Scanning The Boston Globe this morning I saw his death notice at 81 and with his passing, a bit of my past has been consigned to history. I suppose if his notice were in the French papers, it would say, Jess Cain has run out of pantyhose.
