Remotely annoying

At the risk of sounding like a COW (Cranky Old Woman) I remember the days when you walked to the TV or any appliance and turned it on.

Now you have remotes or combination of remotes.

Visiting a friend we said that sometimes the remotes weren't enough.

It is necessary to light a candle and do a remote dance (similar to the Indian rain dances)

Switches had another advantage. They never ran out of batteries just as a favourite program was coming on and all the stores, even the one around the corner were closed.
